MADRID/OSLO (VG) Spanish sources tell VG Martin Ødegaard is signing with Real Madrid. The deal could give Strømsgodset over 60 million NOK.


The Norwegian football-club Strømsgodset will most likely receive at least 30 million NOK immediately in transfer-fees, but based on achievements they can get as much as 60 million NOK (about 6,8 million EUR) for the 16 year old wonderkid.

According to information obtained by VG, the negotiations with Real Madrid in Copenhagen Monday afternoon, did not take a long time.

As VG has reported earlier Ødegaard will not be loaned back to Strømsgodset, but will move to Madrid as soon as possible along with his fater Hans Erik Ødegaard - who will aslo be hired by Real Madrid.

At this point it is not decided what Hans Erik Ødegaards job in the Spanish club will be, but as VG previously reported, he could be assigned a role as a coach for young players.

Ødegaard will be a part of Real Madrids first team from day one and a shirt with the number 16 on the back is has already been printed. This shirt number will according to Spanish regulations ensure Ødegaard plays for the first team.

VG has been in contact with Ødegaards agent Tore Pedersen, who at this point refuse to comment the negotiations.

Martin Ødegaard turned 16-years old in December and is the youngest player to ever represent Norway.

Interest in Ødegaard from English Premier League sides Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal has previously been reported.
